Easter in the Holy Land

I have always found this place bizarrely fascinating. I grew up near it, but it closed when I was still in high school. Most of the park has been destroyed or picked clean. The giant fiberglass Bible has disappeared, the “Garden of Eden” has been picked clean, the Catacombs entrance is blocked by a church pew (you’d be nuts to go down there anyway), and nearly every statue has been decapitated.

I decided to celebrate the Easter weekend this year by trekking out there with my 4×5 and some HP5+ to see what is left to be shot. Apparently, Terry Richardson was there shooting the day before…
